In the past 6 weeks we have rescued two litters of puppies that were born under front porches in remote BC communities. This work literally requires us to go in to these communities and, with assistance, take the structures apart to save the dogs. Female dogs seek these warmer spots close to the foundation of homes when the weather starts to turn for the safety of their puppies. In both cases, the puppies and mommas were emaciated and our rescue efforts were just in the nick of time. Happily, the puppies bounced back (literally) quickly and have found their forever homes. The mommas in these cases are spayed and remain in the communities or they are placed with us for adoption along with their puppies.
