Chloe is a very shy and timid 3 year old fawn Chihuahua. Although this can be characteristic of the breed, it appears to us that she was not adequately socialized and was not given much of a chance to be a dog. Although only 4 pounds, she is very much a dog and not a doll. She will never be the most athletic partner, but she does need regular walks, time to spend outside in the yard and socialization. Dog parks or hiking will not be her choice of recreation. She is currently living in a foster home with several dogs, big and small, and is very curious but fearful. Chloe would do well living in a home with a small CONFIDENT friend to show her how great it is to just be a dog! Chloe would do better in a home without small children. We don’t think she would be too interested in cats and could probably coexist. She is making progress in her foster home, gets excited at meal times, takes treats from the hand and is really starting to explore her new environment. Although not initiating snuggles at this time, a loving, patient and enthusiastic home will bring Chloe out of her shell and into their hearts.
