Date(s) - March 20, 2021 - March 21, 2021
Devin Meads has always loved animals and the outdoors, so when he decided he wanted to do something meaningful for his 46th birthday on March 21, 2021, the Walk for Paws without Pause was born. Devin knew that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Victoria Humane Society was very limited in what they could do for fundraising and he wanted to help.
Devin and his wife learned about animal fostering after they lost their first dog and were looking for another to complete their home. They found her and then discovered a community network of animal foster societies across Canada and decided they needed to be a part of it. That was 11 years ago. They have actively been fostering with VHS since it started in 2013. They have 2 dogs and 2 cats of their own while fostering other dogs, kittens and puppies; primarily litters of puppies; and have had over 500 puppies come through their home before being successfully adopted.
As a foster, Devin knows how much VHS relies on fundraising to help animals and the pandemic has severely limited that. The Walk for Paws Without Pause is Devin Meads walking for 24 hours straight to raise money for Victoria Humane Society. Money is being raised on the basis of pledges per kilometre he completes during the 24 hours. He will be starting in Langford and walking along the TransCanada Highway #1 heading up-island starting at 8:00am, Saturday, March 20, 2021 until 8:00am, Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Pledges can start today! The more pledges, the more motivation to go farther and raise more money for the animals in the care of the Victoria Humane Society. Download your pledge sheet here.
